Westcave serves as the “backbone organization” for the Children in Nature Collaborative of Austin (CiNCA) and works to implement the Collective Impact Model in managing the collaborative. Established in 2009, the CiNCA is an outgrowth of several years of a children and nature “lunch bunch” of individuals and organizations that are interested in getting more kids outside more often to play and learn in nature. More than 60 CiNCA partners now work together to ignite and fan the flames of the regional movement to reconnect kids to the natural world and to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
In collaboration with Westcave’s Executive Director and the CiNCA Leadership Team, the program manager will have lead responsibility for shaping and executing the work objectives of the team including communications and outreach, resource development, research, membership, and current programs priorities that include:
· Diversity in Leadership
· Advocacy for Parks and Open Space
· Cities Connecting Children to Nature (CCCN) – Green School Parks
The Program Manager will also be a lead player in planning and implementing the annual Celebration of Children in Nature Awards Dinner– the primary funding stream for the work of the CiNCA.
