The trails are flat, and the group can expect to walk about one mile or less at a slow and easy pace. No experience with birding is necessary, and no special equipment is needed. All ages welcome.

Origin Stories: Westcave in Eight Plants Hike
Join us as we take a deep dive into the incredible stories of eight iconic plants and trees that make up the rich history and biodiversity of Westcave Preserve. Follow in the footsteps of this far out cast of characters as they journeyed from parts around the globe to descend on this harsh, unpredictable environment. Learn about the mechanisms, adaptations, and partnerships they picked up along the way that allow them to survive and thrive in the Hill Country. From the Arctic to the tropics and spanning hundreds of millions of years, the stories of our most silent residents are by far the most interesting.
