After six years as a volunteer member of the education committee, as well as a volunteer tour guide, Erich now brings his love of natural science and informal education to the Westcave team in a more formal role as weekend manager and educator. Trained in industrial design, his career has been focused on the development of interactive exhibits and environments for museums and science centers. That experience included running exhibit departments where he worked closely with education and visitor service departments to promote informal education through exhibits and programs. A keen interest in earth history is expressed by his avocation for paleontology and as a very active member of the Paleontological Society of Austin he is always doing outreach to children and families, telling them about the amazing history recorded in the rocks and fossils of our region and beyond. A native of Ohio, he fell in love with Texas after his very first visit with his wife's family over 25 years ago and now calls Austin and Central Texas his home.
