Andy has been a conservation intern with Westcave Preserve since summer 2016. She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas but has called Austin home for 5 years. She received her B.S. in Natural Resource and Environmental Studies at Texas State University in the Geography Department. She is currently seeking a Master of Science in Geography with a focus in zoogeomorphology and ecosystem engineering. Andy has held internship positions with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, the Colorado River Alliance, and Texas Outdoor Family. In addition, she studied the conservation impacts of elephants on the landscape in South Africa at the Centre for African Conservation Ecology at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU). Her love of the outdoors began in 2006 when her husband took her for a wilderness hike when they first met. Since then she has been devoted to conservation efforts and issues local and abroad.
